Minimalism

What do you think of when you visualize a minimalistic interior? For me, the first thing that has always sprung to mind is an environment where there is no distraction from color, accessories and unnecessary furnishings. The items within the room speak to themselves. It is generally considered to induce a sense of calm and freedom.

It's a lovely idea to have your environment give you a sense of peace and tranquility. But a palette of no color in a spacious room devoid of anything but essential furnishings unsettles me rather than soothes.
